"I am proud that the promises I made on the doors have been the promises I have delivered on in office."
Dear Neighbor,
My name is Jennifer Conlin, and I am your State Representative in Michigan’s newly drawn House District 48.
I am a wife, mother, daughter, caregiver, and native of Washtenaw County. During my decades-long career as a journalist, I have had the opportunity to meet people all over the world and share their stories. For the last twelve years, I have been covering Michigan, writing about small businesses, tourism, healthcare, arts and culture, and economic development. I believe my profession has uniquely prepared me to be a state legislator. I will listen to all sides of an issue, find common ground, and amplify voices.
Now, I don’t just want to chronicle issues in Michigan...I want to resolve them in Lansing.
My family has long lived in Washtenaw County. My relatives have served in city, county, and state governments, and continue to serve on the judicial bench to this day. I am eager to join that legacy and give back to a community that has been so important to me.
Together, I know we can find solutions that will create good-paying jobs, improve education, protect our environment, expand access to high-quality, affordable healthcare, and safeguard the rights of all Michiganders.
I will work tirelessly to help make our district and state a more equitable, thriving place.
Thank you,
Our District
